Project Manager – Precision Solutions

Summary:  This key role on the Precisions Solutions team will have responsibility for costing, routing, planning, sourcing product at the Bridgeport site. Will collaborate and partner with the sales team, operations team, customer service team and other key stakeholders to identify and find solutions to meet customer needs.  The Project Manager will interact daily with leaders in order to optimize flow and costing of product at the Bridgeport facility.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with West Branch, Barcelona, and Mexico City sites to design and source appropriate sintered pre-forms.
  • Effectively cost production orders in the facility through knowledge and application of grinding operations in order to maximize productivity and output within the facility
  • Establish and load accurate cost models based on determined process steps.
  • Engage with grinding operators to troubleshoot solutions and implement changes to improve job routing and process steps.
  • Collaborate with outside sales team to gain an accurate forecast and use the data for appropriate capacity planning and job scheduling.
  • Establish relationships with customers; proactively update customer and sales team members, as needed on order progress and delays.
  • Participate in key customer meetings as needed to build customer relationships and earn their confidence and trust.
  • Quickly respond to customer inquiries: providing quotes, status updates, and ensure customer needs are exceeded.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to operations, advocating for quality and delivery as well as ensuring specialized customer requirements are being met.
  • Act as the post order point of contact for customers building deep and meaningful relationships that can be leveraged to future orders.

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree required; BS in Engineering a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in grinding operations in of Carbide / Ceramics / or steel product
  • Experience working with high precision grinding and lapping operations
  • Proven track record of working in a cross functional collaborative team to realize shared goals.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings and the GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) associated with that drawing
  • Utilization of CRM systems, Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Utilization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Movex/Info M3 experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Empathy for the customer with the ability to understand the customer’s view and the role that Hyperion plays in solving the issues of the customer.

  • Excellent communication skills across a variety of teams, personalities, and cultural backgrounds.

Travel:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% is required
