Precision Solutions Co-ops Present at Saginaw Career Complex Career Day
On Wednesday, January 25th, Precision Solutions Co-Ops Grace Anderson, and Connor Jakacki were at the Saginaw Career Complex representing GLE and Precision Solutions by Hyperion at the 10th Grade Career Day. Grace and Connor were present for the afternoon session where they were able to interact with and see future engineers from the following high schools, Saginaw High School, Arthur Hill High School, and Carrollton High School.
Interaction With Students
Grace and Connor were able to interact with students throughout the whole day, and they took advantage of that. They had the opportunity to talk to students about GLE and Precision Solutions by Hyperion and answer any questions the students had. Both Grace and Connor captured some great footage of the whole event.
“So many students were interested in who we were and what we did. It was a great opportunity for us to tell them about GLE and Precision Solutions by Hyperion”, the two of them said. Grace and Connor were able to express their interests in pursuing a career in this type of industry and mentioned to them that this industry is a great one to get into.
Grace and Connor both made some great impacts on these students. Without much engineering background themselves, it was meaningful to the students when they were mentioning their experience and interests in this industry.
More on SCC
The Saginaw Career Complex is the career and technical education center for high school students in Saginaw County. Many students spend half of their school day here and invest plenty of time into their future careers.
The Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing program is a cross-training program that provides an exploration of both engineering and manufacturing. As mentioned above, Mr. Oliver Johnson is the instructor of this program. Mr. Johnson himself has had plenty of experience in the engineering/manufacturing industry. Not only did the students learn a lot about engineering and manufacturing, but Grace and Connor learned quite a bit as well! “It was a treat to see the engineering/manufacturing facility at SCC. I was so impressed with the equipment that was there and very impressed with the students’ engineering abilities”, Connor says.
The Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing program at SCC is extremely beneficial to students who have any interest in engineering and/or manufacturing. Some notable benefits include the opportunity to earn college credits at Delta College, participate in FIRST robotics, and Co-Op’s as well as other paid work experience may be available.
The Future is Bright
We want to thank Mr. Oliver Johnson and the Saginaw Career Complex for presenting us with this opportunity. Grace and Connor had a great time representing GLE and Precision Solutions by Hyperion at this event and will gladly do it again! There is some great, young talent in Saginaw County… Look out engineering world!
