Connor Jakacki, Business Development Co-op at Precision Solutions

Connor recently joined the Precision Solutions family as a Business Development Co-op, located at GLE-Precision in Bridgeport, MI. He is a fifth-year student at Saginaw Valley State University, pursuing a degree in Marketing, with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Connor will be graduating in May.

On top of work and classes, Connor captains’ the Men’s Varsity Golf team at SVSU. He grew up an athlete, playing multiple sports in high school, including golf, hockey, and baseball. Connor grew up in Livonia, MI, where he attended Stevenson High School.

Work Experience

Before becoming a co-op student, Connor spent a few years in the sports industry. Most notably, he was a Game Day Operations Intern for the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club and this past summer; he worked as a Ticket Sales Associate for the Great Lakes Loons Baseball Club. “My experience with the Loons was one I will never forget. I had never been in sales before, so making that first cold call was quite scary”, Connor says. After this experience, Connor says he has gained tons of confidence in his ability to communicate with anybody and everybody. Prior to these positions, Connor worked as a caddy and as a bag boy at Western Golf and Country Club in Redford, MI.

Why GLE?

In his time at SVSU, Connor has become great friends with Precision Solutions by Hyperion Inside Sales Rep, Christian Blasch. This relationship helped open an opportunity for Connor to join the GLE family. “When Christian and I talked about this opportunity, I was very intrigued. I looked more into the company and decided that it would be a great fit”, he says. Connor has not had any experience in the engineering/manufacturing industry, but it interests him, and he is willing to learn all about it. “Before this position at GLE, I really had no knowledge of the entire industry. After just being here for a week, I have already grown and learned so much”, he says. It will be a great learning experience for Connor, and we are confident that he will enjoy his time here, as well as expand his knowledge of the industry.

His Role at GLE

As a Business Development Co-Op, Connor will be supporting the Precision Solutions Sales Team, helping to identify business opportunities and market insights, while focusing on capturing additional growth. He will help develop business relationships with new customers and support the organization by conducting detailed market research for identified segments in support of Precision Solutions and GLE-Precision’s sales and marketing strategy and objectives. “I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity and what is to come with my experience at GLE. I have truly enjoyed my time here so far, and am looking forward to a great future”, Connor says.

Outside of Business Development

When Connor is not working, he is busy with golf and class at SVSU. Some other things Connor loves to do include hanging out with friends, working out, and playing intramural sports. “Sports were all I knew growing up. Anything that involves competition, I love doing”, he says. Connor also loves to travel. This past summer, Connor experienced Europe, where he stayed in Scotland for a week. “That was the best trip I have ever been on. After going to Scotland, I would really love to get to other parts of Europe as well”, he says. Connor says that the coolest spot he has been to in the United States is the Grand Canyon. Him and his family made the trip out west in the Summer of 2021.
